Calder Jewellery

Calder produced more than 1500 pieces of jewellery in his lifetime, beginning in 1906 when he adorned his sister’s dolls with pieces of wire found on his childhood streets.

A rare publication bringing together hundreds of newly commissioned and archival images of pieces usually dispersed in museums or private collections. The book spans the intimate, domestic origins of much of his jewellery’s making (his daughter’s tooth is encaged in a wire pendant) to its now coveted position (worn by people such as Georgia O’Keefe and Anjelica Huston).

First edition paperback. Very good condition. 2007.
