Hiromix

£90.00

A book of images taken by Hiromix in the 90s on her point and shoot camera of subjects anyone might relate to, images of themselves, their friends, food, morning and evening light - things somehow deserving of an unexamined attention and decision to capture.

The eyes of a sausage dog dressed as santa are lit up in a blue cataract sheen, and a cheap lace curtain is shot through with golden sunlight. Hiromix values unprofessional equipment and settings for the ways in which they unpredictably capture the intrusion of magic into everyday life.

Known for her use of self-portraiture, of which there are many examples in this book, she seeks out a self to be kept hold of, for herself and others, amidst a vast proliferation of goods and representations and choices.

Hardback, perfect condition. 2000.
