Soccer Wonderland by Julian Germain

£20.00

‘I was born in September 25th, 1962, on the day Ipswich town beat Floriana of Malta 10-0 in the European Cup. Their biggest ever win and all in all a good day. I have always wanted to be a great footballer. However, I’m now 31 years old and resigned to the fact that I will never play for England, or for that matter Ipswich.

‘Instead, I find myself going next door to ask the neighbours if Paul, their 14-year-old, can come out to play. He can, after he’s fed the chickens [...] we play in the primary school’s miniature football pitch, the only bit of flat ground in the village. There is light rain, wet grass, soft ground and mud. Perfect.’

Germain’s beautifully designed book of football fanaticism.

Very good condition. Hardback. 1994.
